Hello

We are Jo & Neil Huggon and have many years experience of European motorhome travel as far afield as Croatia and Greece.

Where2Next? events (rallies) are usually hosted by ourselves, the concept being that although we've travelled solo to some wonderful places and seen many interesting things, it would be fun to do so in a group.

The Story so far

We started organising European rallies in 2016 with a tour of Benelux countries. Since then we have organised several rallies to France, Germany and Spain.

Our trips are a mix of light hearted social activities combined with both group and individual exploration. The activities have included walking, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding, cable car rides, boat trips and even riding a summer toboggan! Whilst the majority of us are of retirement age, we are all still young at heart. Our trips are better suited to those with reasonable mobility to actively participate. There is always plenty of time to simply do your own thing alongside group activities.

All of our trips are administered through an ABTA/ATOL bonded travel agent with over fifteen years experience in arranging highly successful and enjoyable rallies to the continent. They liaise directly with the campsites, deal with bookings and handle all of the financial transactions. There is a great demand for these 'escorted' type tours and there are a number of commercial companies offering them.    We do this for fun!

We have started to establish a community of friends who regularly join our trips. In our opinion it's all about the people! We think it's really important that everyone who comes with us enjoys each other's company and to that end, although we are happy to hear from anyone who is interested in our trips, final selection will be at our discretion.

Our rallies to date

2016 Benelux

Our first overseas rally took place in 2016. It was a three stop Benelux tour which incorporated sites in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.  It was organised entirely by ourselves, which is one of the reasons that we now work so closely with a specialist travel agent.

2022 Vendee

In 2022 we organised a rally to the Vendee in France on behalf of the Northern Counties Group of the Motor Caravanners' Club. It was a single site rally with 25 motorhomes from across the UK attending. Rally activities included swimming, cycling, various on site games, a beach party, a wine tasting and a 'Chinese' raffle. The event proved to be a great success and our 'springboard' for the future.

2023 Rhine, Wein und Wasserfall

In 2023 our next rally was exploring the Rhine area of Germany, a four site tour including Remergen, Rudesheim, Bad Ems and Saarburg. Twenty five motorhomes participated with activities including cycle rides, stand up paddleboarding and a scenic river cruise along the Rhine to name but a few. Some hardy souls even participated in the summer toboggan ride.

2024 Sonne, Schnapps und Schnitzel

In June 2024 we returned to Germany, starting in the charming town of Eberbach on the river Neckar. The first challenge we faced was the extensive flooding which had taken place in the area. Fortunately, the site drained enough for us to stay (a decision which was only taken the day before arrival). Our time there included an excellent guided walking tour of the town, a day trip by train to nearby Heidelburg, a riverside cycle ride and a sausage tasting afternoon. We moved on to Bad Durkheim on the Weinstrasse, to a site which featured it's own lake. Much swimming and paddleboarding took place together with the now regular wine tasting. Our final site Sweich, was a riverside location not far from Trier. A service bus trip to the town was organised, raising the eyebrows of locals as 50 or so of us jumped on board the bendy bus. The adventure was rounded off by most of us visiting the onsite restaurant for a farewell meal.

2024 España - Mountains and Mediterranean

In October 2024 we arranged a smaller rally which included a stay in Navajas, in the mountians north of Valencia and Torre de la Horadada the most southerly town of the Costa Blanca. A more low key affair than usual, we walked to the 60m water fall, took a bus trip to Torrevieja, not to mention a cycle ride to the local bodega to sample wines straight from the barrel. A group barbeque, an educational whisky tasting and lots of group games kept everybody busy in the autumnal sunshine.
