Travel info
Remember that you are free to chose your own crossing dates which will allow you to take as much time before or after the rally as you decide.
The distance from Calais to our first campsite by the shortest route is about 560 miles. This would lead you through Belgium and Luxemburg into Germany. The road network is of a high standard and straightforward to navigate. The route is also toll free. We estimate actual driving time to be about 13 hours. Germany probably has more official camper stops than anywhere else in Europe.
The distance from our first campsite to the second at Lake Garda is about 170 miles. This will involve passing through Austria. Motorways there involve a 1 day toll sticker (vignette) which costs €9.30 plus an additional toll on the A13 of €11,00. The toll for the Italian section of motorway is calculated at approx €0,10 per km. We estimate this charge to be about €25,00. This is paid by debit/credit card at the tollgate. We estimate actual driving time to be about 5.5 hours. Please bear in mind that you will have 48 hours to make this journey.
We will be happy to give guidance about routes and stopovers if required.
All of the above is based on a standard two axel motorhome of 3500kg less than 3m tall. Please contact us for further guidance if you van exceeds these.
